how does this work?
once payment has been established, i will reach out to you for confirmation, and your request will be added to my queue.
IF YOU’RE AT THE TOP OF MY WORK QUEUE, THEN BARRING ANY UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES (INJURY, ILLNESS, OR OTHER SUCH ACUTE DETRIMENTS TO MY WELL-BEING), OR STATED DELAYS (SUCH AS VACATION), I WILL BEGIN WORK ON YOUR COMMISSION WITHIN 5 BUSINESS DAYS.
after that, it’s just a matter of time. generally speaking, if the service is available on the form, it is currently being offered.
how is payment handled?
payment is processed upon submitting your request. the form has an integrated paypal option for ease of use (for both of us), so you can submit your payment directly with your request.
all payment information entered is encrypted, and is not stored for anything beyond what is necessary to confirm fulfillment.
why was i refunded?
if i have refunded you, you will be informed why. requests within the scope of my Terms of Service are unlikely to be turned down.
what if I want a refund?
refund requests will only be processed before work has begun on your piece. if it’s already been started, you will not be refunded. sorry!
please do not submit a refund request after i have sent you your piece. you paid for my time, not a product.
WHAT TYPES OF SERVICE DO YOU OFFER?
pay-per-minute?
pay-per-minute requests are exactly what they sound like! you pay for my time, and i spend the amount of time you’ve paid for working on your request!
unless you have a specific request in mind for execution, i will be doing vibe work to whatever reference, inspiration, or suggestions you provide!
subjects and suggestions need not be limited to words or pictures: songs, symbols, poems, math equations, keymashing, anything goes (within a 420 character limit).
if you want to be cryptic and get some weird interpretive art back, i can vibe with that.
if you want me to work to a specific musical playlist, album, or individual track on repeat so the piece reflects the musical ideas, i can fuck with that hardcore.
obscure vocaloid tracks, your local band faves, your experimental noise music project, nyancat 1-hour loop. whatever the case, i will listen, so be creative.
currently, pay-per-minute requests are priced at USD $2.50 / per minute, starting at a minimum of 10 minutes ($25.00). this works out to $150 an hour.
this commission type is intended for smaller-scale projects and more experimental art; the rate is intended to offset the volume of unpaid administrative overhead it takes to work as a freelance artisan!
how is this time spent?
it’ll vary from piece to piece, but generally time spent will prescribe to a 1:3:5:1 ratio model. setup, layout, render, finish.
in example:
- 10-minute experimental sketch slot
- 1 minute of colour- and brush-picking
- 3 minutes of rough sketching
- 5 minutes of finer detail sketching
- 1 minute of finishing polish
- 60-minute experimental painting
- 6 minutes of colour- and brush-picking and general conceptual work
- 18 minutes of concept sketch layout
- 30 minutes of painting and flow work
- 6 minutes of finishing polish
if you have specific requests for how you would like to see that time spent, by all means let me know. i love an odd challenge.
custom leather gear?
yes, you read that right! i’m still building an inventory of pre-made items (largely prototypes and experimental pieces) and all the front- and back-end required to sell, but outside of irl markets and conventions, all gear is currently made to order! that means that it will be made to your specifications!
this implies an increase in overall expected effort (for both you and for me!), but in my opinion, this is vastly outweighed by the benefits it provides to us both! as mentioned, your gear will be made to fit you based on the measurements you provide, which takes out the guesswork surrounding fit!
this working contract includes personal design consultation, guidance acquiring accurate measurements, and allows for any material specifications you may have!
also included in this package is an illustration of a likeness you have rights to (i.e. your self, your fursona, persona, avatar, original character, etc.) wearing your leather gear! this is a complimentary service, but if you’d like a specific level of polish (lineart, flats, cell-shading, painterly) we can work that out in consultation and invoicing! you’ll also get a small-format print shipped alongside your gear!
material specifications?
if you have any allergies or aversions to specific materials (such as leather or nickel) and you would like to request an alternative (such as polyurethane, mushroom leather, stainless steel, or solid brass), please don’t hesitate to ask!
it doesn’t need to be allergy or ideology related, either. you can request specific material colours, weights, compositions, whatever the case may be, and i will do my best to work with you to make that happen! please understand that this is still subject to availability and ingenuity.
please also note that specific material requests may be subject to an increase in overall cost, but this will be discussed.
so what will i get?
once the payment invoice has been settled and i have completed your order, your gear will be delivered! depending on where you are located, shipping and courier services and estimated delivery timelines will vary.
you will receive:
- your requisitioned leather gear set
- a high-resolution copy of the design illustration
- a small-format print copy of the design illustration
